Symptoms: Chronic or watery diarrhea (greasy / foul-smelling / mucus), weight loss, lethargy, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, yellowish mouth plaques in birds, foul breath, anal irritation in cats.
Use: Broad-spectrum treatment of Giardia, Trichomonas, Histomoniasis (Blackhead in birds), Entamoeba (amoebiasis), and anaerobic bacterial GI infections. Long half-life allows lower dosing frequency than metronidazole.
